BREAKING. Mix-up of TopTV's Silver! and Star! channels' feed the result of technical problem in Europe, says pay TV operator.

You're reading it here first.

The ''silver star'' broadcasting mistake yesterday whereby Star! (TopTV 179) disappeared for hours to be replaced by a second channel feed of the Silver! (TopTV 112) movie channel is because of a European technical problem, says TopTV.

Angry TopTV subscribers wondered yesterday what was going on (story RIGHT HERE) when first Star! and Silver! switched channel numbers, after which Star! completely disappeared and Silver! could be seen on both channel numbers. Both Star! and Silver! are provided to TopTV by the same company, the Scandinavian television broadcaster NonStop Television that's part of the Turner Broadcasting System.

''The Silver!, Showtime and Star! feeds all go via Estonia to Munich [in Germany],'' says Danny Noble, TopTV's Network Monitoring Room manager. ''It seems that there was a technical issue from the source.''
